Kerri Cooper is an expert in sports dietetics, ancestral health and functional nutrition. She received her B.S in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Virginia Health System. She also has Masters in Nutrition from James Madison University and is board certified specialist in Sports Dietetics. She's also a Functional Trainer & Elite Trainer. Functional and Ancestral Clinical Approach

She utilizes a thorough, but gentle clinical approach where she investigates each facet of her patients’ lives in order to obtain a more holistic picture of what they are going through and where they want to be. She acknowledges the importance of connection where both patient and clinician feel a sense of trust knowing healing and growth is a judgement free zone

As her career has progressed she has been increasingly appalled by her government driven education where consuming fake foods was encouraged. She recognized that this never made sense and she struggled to develop plans that she ultimately felt good about. She eventually took a leap of faith, branching out from her dietetic counterparts in order to discover a more natural approach that made sense: one that involved consuming a whole, Paleo based template of foods. Her journey into ancestral nutrition and health eventually led her to her formal training in functional and ancestral medicine through the Kresser Institute and their ADAPT Level I Clinician Training Program.

Kerri has a wealth of experience working with active clients seeking weight management as well as athletes seeking optimization of their competitive edge. She specializes in gut health, brain health, ketosis and carb cycling. Outside of this focus, she also see very ill patients with both progressive chronic and acute diseases.
