Backbends can be very intense poses, even for people who've been working at them for years. When done correctly, they lengthen the spine, open the chest and shoulders and strengthen the glutes and backs of the legs. When done incorrectly, they compress the spine, put pressure on the lower back and can result in injuries ranging from strained muscles to herniated discs. Smart backbending starts small and progresses slowly. Before you go for a full backbend, spend time getting comfortable with beginning poses and taking cues from your body.
LEARN to identify these cues in this WORKSHOP, and how they relate to opening your heart to being Vulnerable!
